Starting a New Business

SCORE provides start-up businesses with free, confidential mentoring and low cost seminars. To begin, there are two options:

Option 1

Talk with a SCORE Mentor:

  1.  Call us, 407/420-4844, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, except national holidays.
  2.  Email us at score@nationalec.org.

Be prepared:

  1. To explain your business idea and your business experience,
  2. To talk about where you are in developing your business, and
  3. To discuss what kind of help you need.

The mentor will help you determine your next steps with SCORE, which could be to attend a free seminar or have a mentoring session.

Option 2

Free Introductory SeminarAttend a Free Seminar for startups:

  • Free Introductory Seminar - This 3 hour course called “You, Your Business Idea, How SCORE Can Help” is designed for people who have limited knowledge about managing or starting a new business and/or are not familiar with SCORE’S services. Offered twice a month.
  • The “Start-up Program” Bundle - 5 seminars for the price of 4. This program is designed for taking the base seminars while working with a mentor on your business plan at the same time. These courses build on each other and are best taken in order.
